Gearhaed

Gearhaed (or Gearhaed: Chrome Warrior) was supposed to be a retro mech shooter heavily inspired by games such as MechWarrior 2, Amok, Metal Head (the Sega 32X game), among others. It was supposed to have PSX/MS-DOS-esque graphics, akin to it's inspirations, and was being made using the Godot engine, like my current game Project Millennium. It was in development for only a month or so during the latter half of 2023.

The purpose of this game was to keep it short and simple, and to sell it at a pretty low price point, since at the time (and like with Stickfigurate), I was financially struggling and needed something that would make some form of cash. But I got overtly ambitious with Gearhaed, and realizing the scope of the project was too much for me, I scrapped it. All that remains is some idea text files, and a few 3D models, and that's about it. (aside from the obvious prototype I made that you can see in the screenshot above and the video link below)

Silly fun fact, before Gearhaed, I actually was originally intending to create a King's Field-esque dungeon crawler, since I like the early King's Field games for it's surreal early PS1 energy with it's graphics and sound; but I quickly shifted to wanting to make a mech shooter instead before scrapping it all together.
